Mike grew up with a passion for travel and its power for educating on global issues. This was sparked by travelling from a young age with his family through remote areas of South East Asia, whilst living in Hong Kong. Upon returning to the UK, Mike pursued an education in Animal Biology, focussing on conservation. After a brief stint in scientific conference production in London, Mike moved to Tanzania for 2 years as Operations Manager for a UK sustainable and youth development charity. He set up and ran expeditions here for young people completing environmental and community-based projects. Mike then moved to Malaysian Borneo where he carried out the same Operations role for a year. He returned to the UK in 2016, joining the Global Action Operations Team.
Mike also has a passion for adventure travel, being a keen hillwalker and climber. He can often be found climbing or walking in the UK hills, or in the pub planning his next international mountain trip.
As Operations Director, Mike is responsible for the overall delivery of Global Action’s overseas programmes, working with the rest of the operations team to ensure the quality and safety of all itineraries are maintained to the highest standards possible.
