Barney’s career has been dedicated to working with young people and communities around the world, with a focus on safeguarding, learning, and supporting personal and international development. His passion for global education began while leading expeditions in India and later took him to Borneo, Central America, East Africa, Ukraine, and Nepal, where he worked as a Country Operations Manager with Raleigh International.
With an MA in Children, Youth and International Development, Barney has since led youth programmes in the UK and overseas, managed advocacy projects at the Street Child World Cup, and delivered safeguarding reviews for leading charities and NGOs. At Global Action, he brings together his background in youth work, safeguarding, and programme management to create overseas experiences that are adventurous, educational, and safe for students and teachers.
Outside of work, Barney is a lifelong Manchester City supporter, enjoys hiking and exploring new places, and is embracing his latest and greatest adventure: fatherhood.
