The Country

A rich cultural heritage, community development, and sustainable agriculture

Located in central Morocco, Marrakech sits at the northern foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, a towering range that includes Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. The region features a diverse geography, from arid plains and palm groves surrounding the city to rugged mountain landscapes with deep valleys, terraced fields, and traditional Berber villages.

The culture of the Marrakech and High Atlas region reflects a rich blend of Berber traditions, Arab influences, and French heritage, expressed through its vibrant markets, traditional music, stunning architecture, and warm hospitality.

The experience in a nutshell

From exploring the souks in the 'Red City' of Marrakesh, to helping out with terracing and irrigation system repairs, and planting saplings in a community orchard in the foothills of the Atlas mountains - this is a trip that really shows you how the Sustainable Development Goals transform into action. Immerse yourself in a unique opportunity to learn about sustainable development, food security, and grassroots initiatives alongside a Berber community with a high-impact Moroccan NGO. Trek in the beautiful Mount Toukbal region and learn how to cook with all those amazing Moroccan spices - you won't want to leave!
