  • Build Up

    And we're off!

    Meet up at school, where your Global Action Trip Leader will check your kit and run through health and safety briefings.

  • Days 1-2

    Sabah

    Travel overnight to Borneo and drive through the heart of Sabah. Witness the impact of the palm oil plantation boom and pass Malaysia’s iconic highest peak, Mount Kinabalu.

  • Day 3

    Orangutans and sun bears

    Learn about the challenges and successes of orangutan and sun bear conservation from experts at two of Sabah’s leading conservation organisations. Introduction to the rainforest ecosystem on a spectacular canopy walk.

  • Days 4-6

    Kinabatangan community homestay

    Enjoy amazing views while travelling by boat on the Kinabatangan River, before being fully immersed in the local community for an inter-cultural exchange. Get involved with activites essential to rural village life including boat-making, handicraft and fish trap making, as well as the opportunity to teach English and play games with local children.

  • Days 7-9

    Rainforest conservation

    The environmental phase of the trip, where you take part in a variety of river cruises alongside an eco-tourism organisation seekign to conserve and protect the ancient Kinabatangan Rainforest. Learn from researchers and community members, and witness first-hand the human impact on this environment whilst making a meaningful contribution to its protection for the future.

  • Days 10-13

    Jungle trek

    Venture into the jungle for a 3-day trek across suspension bridges, through village and jungle trails, and have an opportunity to visit a rural Borneo village, accompanied by your expert Jungle Guides.

  • Day 14-15

    Kota Kinabalu

    Relax and explore Sabah’s state capital, Kota Kinabalu. Time for a Final Review led by your Global Action Leader to analyse and reflect on your activities and experiences.

  • Day 16

    Selamat tinggal

    Time to go home!
