Day 1
San Jose
Flight to San Jose, the vibrant, modern capital of Costa Rica. Meet your local guides, and settle into your hotel.

Days 2-3
Arenal
Two nights living in an eco-tourism resort in the Arenal Volcano National Park - beautiful, awe-inspiring surroundings in which to deepen your understanding of Volcanic Hazards, Renewable Energy and Sustainable Tourism.

Days 4-5
Monteverde
Explore the Monteverde Cloud Forest learning about Natural Resource Conservation and Protection of Endangered Species.

Days 6-10
Conservation project
Four days of hands-on learning about environmental preservation through permaculture, turtle conservation and a blue flag beach programme focusing on plastic waste. You will be fully immersed into life on the project, using practical skills to make a contribution during your stay, as well as learning about the long-term impact of the project.

Day 11
Beach time
A day’s R&R at Santa Teresa – time to perfect your hammock skills.

Day 12
San Jose
Travel to San Jose. A walking tour to explore the city, markets, practice your Spanish, and absorb the Costa Rican urban culture.

Adios
A Final Review to analyse and reflect on your global learning experiences. Time to go home!
