Prior to departure, your Global Action Destination Manager will facilitate a Global Learning Workshop at your school, to help prepare students for their UN agency and NGO visits.
Fly to Geneva and meet your Global Action Geneva Facilitator. Settle into your hotel close to Geneva City Centre, and walk to the Bains de Pâquis, with its magnificent views of Lake Geneva and the mountains beyond.
Guided tour of the United Nations Headquarters (UNOG), in the Palais des Nations, for an overview of the UN international system. Presentation and discussion with a senior member of staff at one of the UN agencies, specifically chosen to meet your learning objectives.
Visit to the outstanding International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, and a discussion seminar at a second UN agency or NGO. Explore Geneva Old Town before dinner.
A relaxed cable car ride and walk up Mont Salève (1,379m or 4,524 ft.) with panoramic views of Geneva, the lake, the Jura Mountains, and the Alps including Mont Blanc. Back to town for a third discussion seminar at a UN agency or NGO.
Your last tailored talk or seminar at a UN agency, and a Final Review led by your Global Action facilitator to analyse and reflect on the efforts of different United Nations’ agencies to create a better world. Time to go home!
