Gemma caught the travel bug on a post-uni, 4 month trip through America where she spent time working as an adventure activities instructor for children with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Since then, she has worked in a variety of schools as support staff and has also spent 5 and a half years delivering school expeditions and visiting local indigenous communities in an operational support role.
She believes that if the average adult spends 1 third of their life working, it should be spent doing something that has a lasting, positive impact – raising awareness of environmental and humanitarian issues for future generations seems like a pretty worthwhile task!
When she’s not planning her next adventure, Gemma has a passion for losing her voice at gigs, avoiding injury playing netball and absolutely anything/everything outdoors!
