INDIA MUMBAI
This is a once in a lifetime trip, giving students the opportunity to learn about global citizenship, poverty reduction, and sustainable development, through hands-on volunteering with award-winning charities, and explore Mumbai’s rich heritage.
Due to the high educational value of this trip, all students will earn the ASDAN Universities Award, which will look excellent on future UCAS University applications.
This trip includes supporting the inspirational OSCAR Foundation on their youth empowerment projects. OSCAR Foundation is a Sports for Development charity that uses the power of football to encourage children to stay in school, and equip them with life skills to make them resilient. Since 2010, OSCAR have empowered 15,000 children and youth from poor slum communities. You will learn about leadership through football training with the local students and support OSCAR Young Leaders.
You will empower marginalised urban settlement communities with education and life-skills. Take part in community-driven development activities to see how the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals translate into action in Dharavi and Mankhurd. From helping to teach maths, English and crafts, to life-skills and gender workshops, a community clean-up and football training with the children – you’ll be part of the community family before you know it!
We finish this amazing trip by exploring Mumbai’s iconic landmarks, amazing Hindu temples and rich history!
