Nepal projects update

The beginning of this week marked the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (Monday 17th October), with a theme of ‘Dignity for All in Practice’.  With that in mind, this has coincided with fantastic news from Sonam Sangpo, our Projects Director in Nepal: several of the sites worked on by teams this summer in Nepal have now been completed, and in conjunction with the Lions Club Pokhara, have been handed over to the communities ready for their use!

Shree Bhabisya Nirman Secondary School – water tank construction was supported by St Michael’s School and is now complete.

Shree Krishna Secondary School – water tank construction was supported by Bradfield College and is now complete

The service activities both our Global Action partner schools participated in have ensured that a clean water drinking system is now available for all schoolchildren in each Nepali community. Critical in a country that suffers water insecurity and acute water shortages, we are honoured to have been guests in these communities and involved in this work. These projects will be instrumental in reducing childhood illness, increasing school attainment, and supporting the dignity for all, in our wonderful Nepali partner communities.
